I have been wondering if I should trust eBay with my money. Is eBay a really good website to sell and buy items with? Just asking for future reference.

It depends. What type of items are you planning to sell?

eBay can be a hassle at times. People not paying up right away, etc, can be serious headaches. It boils down to what type of items you are planning to sell - most likely I'd reccomend to ONLY accept Paypal and major credit cards. This way you get instant payment and then you can be sure you're sending it to someone reliable.

As for buying, make sure to buy from a person who has a good percentage (95%+) and has a high rep rate. Be sure to inspect their rep and see what all the negative feedback was about (sometimes very good sellers have one or two bad apple customers who leave negative feedback even if they refunded their money and did everything they did).

Smart choices and careful planning are the two rules of thumb I'd take with PayPal and eBay. It can be a dangerous place (from buyer and seller).

Hope this helps!

Its the best and most trustworthy site on the web. I have been buying and selling for years and never had even one problem. Paypal for your money is just like a bank and they even have a credit card and you can use Paypal on a lot of other sites now and more everyday. Depending on what you have to sell, you can make some extra money. I made all my christmas money on Ebay last year and am now saving for a summer vacation. All with stuff I bought at garage sales or had around my house.

ebay does not take your money - its the sellers that you need to trust. NEVER send a money order, cash, or check. Always use paypal, this way you can use a credit card that is protected from fraud or theft (make sure yours is like that - most visa and mc's are). If you feel trustworthy of a seller and give in by sending money order or cash - you will not get your merchandise, and they'll dissapear before you can blink. Ebay is fine if you are smart about it - but there are plenty of crooks stalking out there.

Using PayPal to pay for things on eBay is very easy and safe, so far. It is generally trusted. Beware of individual sellers, though. Check their rating before you buy. eBay does have some protections for buyers in the event a seller does not follow through. Generally, it's a good site to do business.

eBay eats up about 5% of all the money you make also with the fees of adding your item on it.

Then the money goes into paypal in which they take another 5-10% chuck OF that money AGAIN.

I think it's a good idea for selling items, because many users use it all around the globe, increasing your chance of selling the item.

It is a trustworthy website if your asking, VeriSign Verified!

YES EBAY SEEMS TO BE A TRUSTABLE SITE TO USE. HOWEVER, THERE ARE VARIOUS PHISHING SCAMS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS CONCERNING EBAY. WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT HACKERS ARE MIRRORING A GENUINE EBAY EMAIL MESSAGE ASKING FOR INFORMATION. IF YOU CLICK THE HYPERLINK IT EVEN TAKES YOU TO THE AUCTION ITEM. HOWEVER, IF YOU GIVE ANY INFORMATION WHILE IN THAT LINK, YOUR DONE FOR BECAUSE YOUR A VICTIM OF IDENTITY THEFT. JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU ONLY GIVE PERSONAL INFO ON A VERISIGN PAGE(LOCK AT THE BOTTOM) AND DONT OPEN MESSAGES THAT YOU ARE NOT SURE OF. THEN YOU WILL BE FINE.

EBAY is definitely a company to Trust with a Capital T,,,,

However, there are hundreds of users in Ebay you could not trust - be careful. there are lots of scams and if you are not careful, you may lose your money. They can easily steal your money. Just a word of caution - do not give or type your password if you are asked and you are not sure where it is from.

Doesnt depend on ebay, but on the seller. Usually they are trustowrthy, unless they have many negative reviews.
