put the package in a little sandwich bag so that you wont lose any of the seeds. Then put it in a basket possibly even a drawer.

I use the original package and after opening and using some put the original package with seeds in a zip lock bag remove most of the air before closing the bag.

To help seeds maintain viability store them in airtight, waterproof containers in the refrigerator or freezer. I have done this and have had seeds germinate that have been over ten years old. The cooler temperatures are also just what some seeds need to trigger germination.
