That really depends on how much paint, and what condition you car's paint was in before it was spray painted.

If it's graffiti or a scorned lover, and it's alot of paint, take it to a professional auto body shop and allow them to do their magic. All they do is paint cars and work on insurance claims to remove paint.

If you are determined to try it yourself, start with a polishing compound. If your car was dirty when this happened, there's a good chance it will take it right off and not harm your paint.

And try it by hand first, if it works then move on to a machine. And if it doesn't work, consider letting the pros fix you right up.

If it is recently done you can probably spray some throttle body cleaner on it and wipe it immediately, then rinse the area and put a new coat of car polish.. First try it in a spot you cant see first (like under the hood) to be sure it doesn't hurt your auto paint. Most car paint is much tougher than spray can paint and should be OK if the cleaner is wiped off with a clean dry cotton cloth. The spray paint should wipe off before the cleaner drys. This did work on my car after some kids sprayed part of it a few years ago.
