what ring goes on which finger anyway? i'm not getting married, i'm just wondering

Traditionally your engagement ring goes on the same finger as your wedding ring (left hand ring finger) but not everyone follows tradition. I think it should be up to the individual for the engagement ring but I'd stick with the traditional for the wedding ring.

Traditionally, in the United States, the wedding band is worn on the third finger left hand closest to the heart. Then the engagement ring is placed next to it (towards the tip of the finger). You can wear the engagement ring on any finger you want, though. Some people who are married, don't even wear engagement rings. Some don't wear wedding bands. The wedding certificate is the legal document that makes a marriage. Rings are just symbols and, thus, unnecessary.

If you aren't getting married, then you are not engaged. If you were engaged, it belongs on your left hand, third finger. When the marriage happens, the wedding band goes in front of the engagement ring.

You can were your ring anywhere you want. It is just tradition to do it on the left. You can get tattos of each other names, Some people were thier rings around thier necks. So, it doesn't matter, you will still love that person the same, no more, no less. Even if you can't afford a ring, or even if someonne was too skinny, fat, or even allergic. They can't were a ring.

They both go on the left hand
The finger next to your pinky.
You could wear them on the right but then nobody would know you were married unless you told them.

If that's your preference, but I wear it on my left to symbolize that I am married and to not even try with me. Most of the time it doesn't work though!

some people wore there engagement ring on there right hand and some wore it on the left.....but if you want people to acknowlege your engaement wear it on your left..
