You took them out too soon, and most likely is you had them pierced with a "gun" you have a blunt force trauma injury to your ear lobe, and the area is probrally all "pissed off". I would suggest keeping neosporin on the wounds, and letting them heal up. In about 9 months, go to a professional piercer, and have them done correctly.

Very likely you had a reaction to the metal in the 2nd pair of earrings. Nickel is very irritating to many people and can cause redness and swelling even if your ears have been pierced for years. There are many hypo allergenic earrings out there but, I would suggest you try a pair of REAL, solid gold hoop wires. It is rare to get a reaction and the air can get to your ears unlike posts that cause pressure. Clean your ears with peroxide and grit your teeth while you reinsert the new gold earrings. You might need a friend to help. Leave the new earrings in and clean every day a couple of times with the peroxide. When you are all healed up and you try different earrings again, if you notice any itching, tenderness or swelling take out those earrings immediately and NEVER wear them again. Post earrings really do hold in the germs so don't leave them in forever and never clean them. Some people are lucky enough to be able to wear any of those cute earrings that are pretty inexpensive but if you are sensitive to nickel you must stick to the more expensive, gold ones or possible stainless.
Good Luck.

This has happened to me before. You need to clean your ear piercing as well as the earring with some good anti-septic cleaner. Rubbing alcohol will work fine. And than just keep trying to insert the earring into the hole. And than be sure to periodically twist earring once inside your ear. This will allow the hole to properly heal, and not grow around/onto the earring.
As well some people have sensitive ears, so if your ear piercing becomes infected too often it could be due to the fact that you're not wearing a high enough quality of earrings. Be sure to check the labels when buying earrings to ensure they are meant for 'sensitive ears'.

In the first place, you shouldn't have taken them out until the time the person who pierced you ears told you to. Those earrings they put in the first place? That was to set the piercings so the hole stays in. You should try going to Clare's sometime and buy a bottle of ear cleaner. Then try some kind of ointment. But if it doesn't go away you should take it to the doctor. It explains on the ear cleaner bottle.

Use peroxide or the solution that was given to you when you got your ears pierced. Clean the holes. Put some triple antibiotic ointment on your ears and on the posts. That should help you slide the ear rings back in. Clean your ears daily and the ear rings. It should start looking and feeling better in a day or two. If not see your doctor.

I have 10 holes in my ears that i did all myself except two and ive noticed its much less painful and a lot cheaper to do it yourself. When your ear closes up over night thats a sign that your body doesnt want it there and its obviously infected. I think you should leave the earrings out let them close up and then try it again once they are healed, if you push it threw again 1. its going to hurt because its infected 2. it will probly stay infected. Also check out if you need to have sterling silver in your ears because i know if I dont, my ears will get super infected. If you do decided to push it threw again, make sure you twist your earrings a lot, that helps infection.

Clean with alcohol and rub in some antibiotic cream like Neosporin but do not let this go on too long. If it keeps up go to a doctor because the infection is too close to your brain and could mean trouble for more than your ears.

wait for the swelling to go down (this will take a while), maybe put some medication, then when you can, put the earrings back in and leave them in for a few weeks
