i understand that there's no such thing as safe days for unprotected sex but what i'm asking is the days where chances of pregnancy is generally lower. I've read from those Q&As in a particular magazine stating that the days in between two periods is safe but other sources contradict that statement saying that the time of ovulation is the peak fertility.

Well "day 1" is the start of the menstrual cycle and its a 28 day cycle, then day 14 she will ovulate. 14 days before her next period. So 3-7 days (sperm can live up to 7 days in the right climate) before and after ovulation are FERTILE days!

Me, I have a 37 day cycle and I ovulated about the 24th day so 7 days before or after I wouldn't have sex!!!

I wouldn't use this as BC! Use condoms or you will have a child!

Good luck!!

If "day 1" is the first day of a woman's period and she has a normal, 28 day cycle, she will ovulate on or about day 14. Ovulation is when the egg is released from the ovary and begins it's journey through the fallopian tubes to the uterus. If the woman isn't impregnated, she will have her period on or about day 28. It is unlikely that a woman can get pregnant through Day 7. A tiny bit more chancy Days 8-10. From then on, there's a measureable risk of pregnancy... because unless you're tracking your ovulation cycle, you don't know exactly when you're ovulating.
