If you really want to breed Guinea Pigs, you will need lots of space! Then you will need many cages filled with paper, food, clean water, and love! You need to put ONE male and ONE female in ONE cage! You need to try to match each breed with the same breed. When you see that the mother is preganent, then you need to take the male out to make sure he does not hurt her. The babies ONLY need to be with their birth mother. Make sure while the mother is preganent she gets the same amount of physical activity every day! When the babies are able to stand and eat on their own you may bring the father in to met them, but the father may attack the babies and if this happens then quickly take out the father and NEVER take him in their again! Now I told you this info.................PLEZ VOTE 4 ME!! My guinea pig died a few days ago, so if I get best vote then i'll know that i'm a good owner!!!!!!! I've had her since i was 13!!!!!

some of the info you got so far is right and some is very wrong. i have raised many pigs. i never had a male attack the babies. in fact they are good fathers. the only reason to remove him from the cage is to keep him from breeding the female again before her body has a chance to heal and recover. take him out for the first week, but let him visit momma and babies every day under close supervision to make sure he doesn't breed her. when the pups are 3 or 4 weeks old he will try to breed the female ones. when they get older this is fine. you should keep your pigs indoors when it is really hot, really cold, or raining, snowing.... but they do love the outdoors. you do need a good size cage so they have lots of room. as for where the babies can go, maybe you should start lining up homes for them before they are born. friends, family, if you are in school then schoolmates. good luck!!

I breed guinea pigs but before I do I make sure that I have at least 6 owners that want one of my guinea pigs luckily for me they are all good friends that want to help so I know that they are good homes. I have a huge hutch that is big enough for about 8 guinea pigs but I only have 2 in there at the mo cos the boys are in together. I think that if you want to breed guinea pigs you have to search the internet and spend weeks researching that is what I did so if you spot any problems with the pregnant mother or the babies so you can nip the problem at the bud.
I do not advise it. Many people have lot's of baby guinea pigs but have not many good homes for them to go to. A pet shop is not an option you cannot give your pets to the pet shop there are many animals out there that need homes.
But if you decide to breed the male can be left in right until the birth in my case my boy Rueben helped clean the babies. he was a good daddy and still is.

well i had guienea pigs and i did alot of reading they need 2feet by 2 feet each so the mother can have up to 6 babies you should seperate the mother and father immidetaly because right after she gives birth she can get pregnat again plus you dont want the father to attack the lil ones plus if there is another male born the father might attack the poor lil one cause 2 males do not get along they can rip each others ears off ....you should get them a big cage they will all be able to fit in beacuse they dont stay small for ever and this way they can all be comfortable if you are looking to give them away make sure you give them to people with families not some guy who says he is going to take it home as a pet chances are he isnt....also dont touch the babies because the mother will mark them with her sent and if you touch them she might hurt one just put food in her dish and water in her bottle make sure you giver her vitamin c drops which can be found at any pet store the father also make sure you take good care of him too dont make him feel like he is being punished cause you took him from his woman i hope you have success with this and i hope they have a happy lil family

Don't. Guinea pigs are overpopulated, and rescues are scrambling to find homes for them all.
