originally it was George A. Norton but who u probally heard was russ morgan or mitch miller not sure about the time it was played on the radio though

Lol. That's not hard! =D. "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" is originally by Gearge a Norton...well, when he sung it, it was originally "Round Her Neck She Wears a Yeller Ribbon (For Her Lover Who Is Fur, Fur Away". You probably heard the one by Russ Morgan. Isn't that it?
