Blog about anything. The question is whether you are blogging for the people or not. You can write abut anything, but not everyone is going to be interested in it.
If you are looking for a way to blog, and keep a record of all your entries exportable to mysql. You can use a free service like http://web.ondapc.com
I have used it for website / blog site ... It has a neat little feature where you can post a # of articles on one page... like a blog output news machine :)
Anyways, blog about whatever. There is no definitive rule to art or content on the net.

Blogs can absolutely anything the writer wants........One of mine is strictly for my photos and another is on politics. Many are just diaries the writers keep and some are open to the public and some are just by invitation........you name it ---and there are probably hundreds of blogs open to the public on that topic.

from what i hear, a blog is like an online diary. you can think of any topic and write about it, and include video and audio. Sorta like a myspace page.
