Its either the control arm or knuckle , possible engine cradle thats bent, dont try to fix, just get used parts, they are cheap and there are plenty of them out there for that car. Try Car-part.com. When putting a used door on you might find that it wont close...being hit in the wheel and door I would thing that the post where the door bolts on might be in a bit. That would have to be pulled but any body shop could pull that and line it up for you. If you know the car and know that its a good car I would go ahead and fix it. Look what is will cost you to replace it and how much it will cost to fix it.

Dude,
A 96 cavalier is only worth about $2500. Trying to repair the one you have is going to cost a pretty penny. And straightening that part, or the frame for that matter isn't going to be worth the cost.
Even trying to find the parts at a DIY place like Pick and Pull probably won't be fruitful.
Unless my dad owned an auto body repair shop, I'd count my loses, sell my wreck to a junk yard and try to find another car.

You will probably have to buy new parts for anything in the steering that is bent, and after the new parts are installed get it re aligned. I am hoping that it is only your door that is bent and not the frame...$$$$$$ more if it is.. Have someone who knows body repair give you an estimate before you spend more than it is worth.

Junk it. It's not worth fixing. It will never drive the same, ever. Your safety is not worth being cheap over a car. I own a 97 cavalier which is the same thing... these cars are only good for 1 bad accident.

Anything is fixable, parts to replace the damage are likely readily available. What you really need to consider is wheter or not you want to spend thre money on parts and labor. thats the only way to do it right.

Don't try to straighten steering or suspension parts. Replace the parts with new or salvage yard pieces.

i own a shop, and it being that old of a car,if it has any frame damage on it ,its not going to be worth repairing unless you could do it your self,,they charge a lot to straiten a frame out,and it sounds like this one took a good lick, and it may have damaged the door post on it also,id think it over real good before i started spending any money on it,good luck,i hope this helps.
