While you probably can, I would stay away. Vista is a big resource hog, and will make your hardware act and feel like a very slow computer. If you must run Windows, stick with XP. Vista doesn't offer any big advantages, and XP is fairly stable and fast.

If you're feeling adventurous, or just want a change of OS for change's sake, try Linux. It can do some very cool stuff, costs absolutely nothing, and is much more secure and stable than any Windows OS. I'd recommend giving SabayonLinux a try, since you can run it without putting it on your hard drive. It will run off of a CD or DVD, and will automatically detect all your hardware and give you some nice eye candy too. And an OS named after an Italian dessert made with sweet liquor and eggs can't be that bad! ;-)

Hope that answers your question!

Yes Vista will run on your PC or Laptop. Please don't use vista now. You can use it after a year when it's rough edges will be polished by Microsoft releasing patches to rectify the complain they receive. I can't go in detail as it will take a lot of time. I have evaluated it and their are so many software & hardware compatiblity & so many irretating features That I am sure all the problem shall be addressed by microsoft within a year & than they will launch something like Vista SP2 as they normally do.
