Did you ever hear of the ice age. It happened a long time ago and lasted a long time. After that I guess you could call it global warming. I haven't heard of any power plants or automobiles during or right after the ice age but it warmed up anyway.
The term Global Warming allowed a "has been" politician to become relevant. You don't have to be right when you invent a situation that cannot possibly happen in our lifetime. I could say that birds will lose their ability to fly and do a documentary to that effect but who will be around when evolution finally causes that to come true?
If I wrote a book that said milk is good for you, who would buy it?
But if I wrote a book that said milk causes cancer, it might be a best seller.
Al Gore did the same type of thing and all Hollywood went Ga Ga. Sadly so did a lot of other sheep. They blindly followed.

Ask yourself what global warming was to us 5 years ago vs. now...about the same, almost not measurable to us.
