For irony:

Resume

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.
-- Dorothy Parker

FOR AN ALL OF A SUDDEN POEM AND AN IRONY POEM,.....WHAT DO YOU ASK? LIKE THIS!YOU FALL FOR WORDS...MAYBE BECAUSE THEY RHYME BUT EVERYTHING YOU SAY SEEM TO BE RIGHT ON TIME..THOUGH!YOU MAY NOT KNOW BECAUSE YOU LOOK FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT..SOMETHING YOU CAN RELATE TOO...OR MAYBE IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT YOU DO.YOU WANT IRONY...SPEAK UP LOUD AND MAKE IT CLEAR...THE ONLY WAY YOU'RE GONNA GET WHAT YOU WANT,IS WHEN YOU GET YOUR *** OUT OF HERE.SO SMILE RIGHT NOW...BECAUSE IT'S JUST BEGUN...AND YOU MY LITTLE FRIEND..BUT THE IRONY, I HAVE NONE.SO BE ON YOUR WAY...YOU CAN GO OR STAY,BUT REMEMBER THE IRONY I CANT GIVE IT TO YOU THAT WAY.SO,SMILE AND SAY TO YOURSELF,WHAT QUESTION DID I ASK AND WHAT ANSWER DID I GET,OR SIMPLY SAY,I AINT GOT TO HEAR THIS BIT.YOU KNOW THE WORD THAT WAS GONNA BE SAID,THINK ABOUT THE IRONY OF THINKING AHEAD. YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBOR SMART ALICK.

Pragmatist

Apocalypse soon
Coming our way
Ground zero at noon
Halve a nice day.

-- Edmund Conti

It's short, but I'd say that the last line not only has a pun, but also is ironic.

Just about anything by Dorothy Parker would be good, but "Richard Cory" by E.A. Robinson is the classic ironic poem.

My father had a favorite chair
we weren't allowed to use.
If ever we were near it,
he was sure to blow a fuse.

My father had a favorite chair.
"It's very old," he said.
"Perhaps I'll give it to you
in my will when I am dead."

Well, time passed by...

my father died...

and left the chair with me...

...and I sold it to my neighbor for a dollar fifty three.

I agree with the post about Dorothy Parker. She's been my favorite for years. Very witty. Good luck!
