It's natural if you don't like lots of unneccessary drama in your life.

Life can be simple and enjoyable. Your biggest worry could be what to do to entertain yourself sometimes.

Or you can live in a Jerry Springer reality. It's your choice. BTW, how much respect do you think those idiots on the Jerry Springer show or on that TV show Divorce Court get from most folks?

I want you to notice how many folks who responded that it is unnatural didn't even consider the emotional ramifications (which are natural for everybody who isn't a sociopath). Very telling.

Fidelity is not natural... from the "nature" view point. Assuming we are evolved, fidelity is contra survival for the human species. The "prime directive" for any species is producing off spring than can survive better and are more adapted to the environment. Therefore a species, all other things being equal, that mixes the genes to a maximum extent, has a better possibility of continuance than one that limits gene distribution. Hence not only is fideltiy contrary to the human evolutionary nature, but is contra-survival for the species.

Based solely on the rest of the animals on the planet.

No, fidelity is not natural for the majority of living creatures.

However, by rising above our natrual and normal instincts to breed with anything and anyone that is willing, we show that we have a greater sense of self awarness.

My opinion is this:
If you really love someone, you will not ever WANT someone else. But even if you DO, you won't act on it, because you care too much about your partner to hurt them in such a cheesy, childish, filthy way.

So yes--love equals fidelity, and therefore those who BREAK fidelity have no real love for their partner.

Nope. Biologically speaking fidelity is not natural, humans are not meant to only be with one person forever. As your personality and needs change and mature, so does your need to find someone who equals what you need. If your spouse isn't that person it makes it hard to stay faithful, and we really weren't meant to be. Religion has forced people to believe they have to be with only one person, but nature has different plans for us.
