I was so frustrated at my job the pay was good but it was dead end i was not going anywhere started to feel stuck, frustrated and unhappy at the end of the day. For the past few weeks i have been searching looking for jobs and i realised that the pay is not that good and i definately have to sacrifice for a pay cut, there is only staffing agencies all over that is offering stupid schedules. I already quit my old job but feel guilty like i did something wrong. Is that normal? should i go back? or shjould i continue to move on with the hope that the right job will com along. i think i made the wrong move at the wrong time.

May be you feel that you went through school wondering what you wanted to be and you knew what it was you wanted to do but you never worked on it you thought is was going to be a piece of cake but it wasn't but you still found a job that payed you good money but it was just making you tired. You wanted to do somthing that you really enjoy doing.

i have a friends like this. but the only probably he is very antisocial. he has quit so many jobs than i have had or known in 10 years. i don't think he feels guilty. he doesn't show it. actually, i don't think you have done anything wrong. if the job is dead end, it just dead end. but, if it a good pay i would have hold on to it until i found a another job. unless, you have money to pay for your expenses until you found a job/better paying one. i think you should move on. if you really dreaded the job and like you said "dead end you wasn't go anywhere" i suggest to to wait. but you know the bills are still rolling.

****** the way i see i don't care if the job pays more than any other job in the world. if i don't like what i am doing, which i means i am always "bored" all the time and has nothing to do, sitting around or standing or staring off in space. i am not going to keep it. but if it pays $5.15 an hour and i love it. so, i kinda can put myself in you and his shoes. i would stick with it. beside, i am single, with no kids, no husband and no other bad worries. so i would be happy with the job i love at a lower pay rate.

I went through the same thing. Had a crap job, awful boss, long hours, but when I left for a better job, i felt sad and guilty.

Its just that you're leaving your comfort zone, and in a way its like breaking up too. Even if you didn't like it that was the place you spent most of your time everyday, and its hard to let go of even if you hated the job.

Can't really comment on whether you made a good move, but remember life is too short to spend it doing something that makes you misreable. Just keep looking and be open to things and you will find something great out there

It is hard when you leave one job BEFORE finding another, which is what it sounds like you did. You have time on your hands to think about it, and of course, it is natural to have recriminations. Perhaps if it is really guilt that you are feeling, you are one of those types who feels like she must absolutely see a task through to the end once she has started it. Why not take some temporary work in the interim, so you are making money, your mind is occupied, and you won't have to take the first permanent job that comes along.. You'll be able to wait for one you really want while still being able to support yourself. Just a suggestion... Good luck...

You should have had another job lined up before you quit. I would continue on finding another job though. You probably feel guilty because you're out of work now looking back on your old job. I'm sure you made some new friends at your former place of employment so you might miss working with them. Another job will come up soon I'm sure. Just keep looking ahead and I would not take a job for less money than you made before.
