well...it is actually still technically winter at the moment. So cold/rainy weather is to be expected. And frankly I will take this rain now versus the 19 degree lows we had in January any day.
The bay area is usually cool and/or rainy until at least early april. You can't really call our weather cold when it gets into negative degrees back in the mid-west. They laugh at us when we say it is 30 and cold. It is what it is. And frankly we could use the rain right now. Snow pack in tahoe has been very low, which means not a lot of water for the summertime and all the rain % around the bay have also been low. We need the rain.
I would get used to thhis weather, as this is what it is normally like this time of year.
The bay area really doesn't "warm up" until maybe mid-april or early may.

With global warming, it's sunny practically all year round now. The rainy season is roughly late November to April. The peninsula cities and the East Bay are definitely sunnier than SF and the outer coast. It depends on what you consider "cold" too. If you want 70+ degree temps, then sporadically from May thru October is good. If you want 60 degrees, then most of the year except winter is good.
I say move to LA and the desert if you want no rain and heat all year round. 85 degree days in January and February are not uncommon in LA.

Its supposed to be cold and rainy now. We're actually behind in the average rainfall totals so if there's no rain, its surely gonna be a sunny and dry drought this summer. Actually this area's climate has usually been rainy through April. Last year we had a lot of rain.
According to wunderground.com I think you'll see some brief periods of sunshine this week in between the rain and definately by this coming weekend.

It entirely depends on where in Bay Area you'll be going! :) The Peninsula and SF can be foggy and cold even in the summer. You Mark Twains line don't you? "The coldest winter was the summer I spent in San Francisco.
Berkeley, Oakland Richmond can be moderate, warm yet not scorching. Meanwhile the other side of the tunnel can regularly hit triple digits in the summer and have warm springs and summers. The South Bay is also quite warm. Marin County is similar to SF.

The forecast says it's going to rain till Thursday and then two days are cloudy and then sun comes out on Sunday.
I do agree, it's been unusually cold and rainy this year. Hope the summer won't be unbearably hot.
