I beleive it is a term such as debutant. It was/is used as a form of perception of a jewish girl that comes from a well to do family and is precieved as a snob/brat becasue she is treated like a princess by her family or percieves herself as better than someone else. In high school we use to call the kids that were of well to do families country club snobs.
