I do not agree.......it is pre-emptive motives behind the companies "strategy"....example....Could the candy be any lower to the floor and the hands of small children in the grocery store checkout line? This is one way of how stores understand the "thinking" ie. the consumerist behavior which technically is manipulating by using "In You Face" marketing of what "specific" consumers want.

Disagree. You would have to already understand their thinking in order to use that specific marketing scheme. The whole point of marketing is to make people buy the product i.e. manipulated people's decisions. I don't believe it is brainwashing though like some people do.

Well, to a certain extent. But the purpose of understanding the consumers' thinking is to manipulate their purchasing decisions.

Rationalize it any way you want. You're still trying to find ways to get people to buy your product.
