When our Forefathers made the Constitution, they said we have freedom of speech. Yet nowadays, I can barely say Christmas or B.C. and A.D. without getting in trouble at school. People can say Black, Indian, Mexican, or Asian if they want to. ITS NOT ILLEGAL!

Nope - it isn't illegal, just stupid to insult people who are at a disadvantage.

You're right. Unfortunately, you're in a public school, which propagates the political left's socialistic agenda. They're tearing down the individual in order to make you think in the collective, which will all be subservient to authority. You have to unfortunately play the game, being a minor, but don't fall for their idiocy.

Read the Federalist papers on your own. They explain what the Federal government was SUPPOSED to be. Read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It'll give you a glimpse the left's fallacies, and why you must fight them. Check out the Libertarian Party. It's the best chance we currently have to reclaim a free nation.

It's only going to get worst if we don't put a stop to it.

I agree with you. I think it is stupid that everyone has to be afraid to talk and say things just like they are or to mention certain words. When I was growing up everything was much better because the only words it was tabu to say were curse words. But mentioning a persons color or race was normal. What is sooo hypocritical now adays is the fact that it is alright to be Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist etc. in public, but God forbid you are Christian. Many schools allow Menorahs and Crescent moons but not Christian symbols. You can talk about any other religion openly but not Christianity. In many universities if you are conservative you are put down and even given bad grades or failed if you are taking the conservative side in a debate or in a written test. Both of my kids have been a victim of that form of political correctness.

Did you know that Hillary Clinton was the original originator of the "Politically Correct" trend? She was.the cause of what we are going through now.

I think it all started because of people being afraid of lawsuits etc... and the possibility of saying or doing something that would be taken out of context and distorted by loopholes in the laws of the constitution. So everybody started tip toeing around on egg shells careful not to offend a person or group for fear of being sued or persecuted in some way. It is basically caused by the ability to bend and stretch the law. We have too many amendments to the Constitution.

Imagine if you had a big dinner party at your home, and "Sally" complains about all the dishes containing meat, because she is a vegetarian.

"Bill" objects to the gold-rimmed wine glasses because gold is sometimes mined by underpaid workers in third world countries.

"Janice" complains that the dinner plates were manufactured by a non eco-friendly company, and demands that her host destroy all the offensive china immediately.

"Ahmed" bitterly denouces his hostess because she is serving wine, which violates the precepts held dear in the Koran. Also, this infidel hostess should be covered from head to toe in a burka, because her exposed calves are an abomination to god.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Just like this dinner party could not even be held, a society cannot function when the legitimacy of absolutely everything is constantly challenged.

Enough of this chaos. Enough of this PC sillyness. If Black people are going to insist on being called "African Americans", even though no one in their family has had any contact with Africa in 250 years, nor do they speak any African dialect, I will insist upon being called a Middle European American, because I am of Czech descent, and have visited their often. At least I can communicate in Czech; 99.5% of blacks have no functioning knowledge of any African dialect, so their insistence on this PC designation is ridiculous.

I remember the South Park episode where the parents initially complained about religious references in the school Christmas pageant (wow.... imagine that! Religious references at Christmas!!) However, after the parents see the completely watered down show that's been stripped of all interest, the parents realize how stupid PC behavior is.

Did you know that in Europe it's considered insulting to call a gypsy a gypsy? You have to refer to them as a "Rome". Well, I'm declaring my independence from PC madness. Gypsies everywhere: hope it doesn't hurt your feelings, but I'm going to start calling you Gypsies.

(terrible, aren't I?)

I have previously answered this question. Please look at my profile.

Also, a recent news article on Yahoo News shows why we need more PC.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070224/ap_on_re_us/jesus_chant

This incident underscores why we need more PC and sensitivity training in schools. It's because there are a boatload of Christians out there who are so vehement and judgmental in insisting that Christianity is the superior religion, and will do anything to put every other religion down.

Incidentally, I'm a Lutheran. I don't have to put other folks down to witness to them or judge them. My goal is to show them my love in the hopes that they come around to faith in Christianity too. If they do, great. If not, that was their choice. The same kind of choice the Founding Fathers put into the Constitution, knowing that persecution only drives people away.

This has to do with the Liberals and Affirmative Action. Through Affirmative action, liberals who would not otherwise get to go to college, or get a job, due to their lesser than acceptable sat scores, are infiltrating schools, and jobs, so they can make a bigger impact on the voice of the people of America. College professor's who went to college, and got their jobs because of Affirmative Action are teaching our children how to hate America, and the rights given to us, by the Constitution.
You forgot one epithet, allowed by government and minorities. Cracker! It is okay to call a white person cracker! I find it hysterical myself, but as you put it, that word is meant to insult white people, but if we call blacks *******, hispanics wetbacks or spicks, Indians chief, and Asians gooks japs, or slant eyes, we are considered evil. Call me cracker, all you want folks, it gives me a hearty laugh, causes me to smile, and think I need some peanut butter!

I don't concern myself with being PC. I don't try to be rude and obnoxious, but PC is something the world can be. Why isn't it PC to not corner my child in sex ed class to tell her it's normal to have "two mommies" or "two daddies". PC would be to leave my child the heck alone. Don't make it an issue, and I won't have to counter the issue.

Because we live in a diverse community that does not want to truly open up and just live life the way God (or whoever your believe in) intended, and if you don't believe in either, just remember, there is something you live for and I don't tell you it is wrong. It is a shame that we live under so many "ploitically correct" terms, but in some cases it keeps the people who are just out to be mean (or don't care) from hurting others, it is our eternal need to protect everyone and make every person happy.....it is a double edge sword......and it is sad!!!
