Napster is a subscription service for music. Limewire is a program that allows you to download music (as well as videos, games, documents,etc) for free. Napster is a legal service, and although it is not illlegal to have Limewire, most (if not all) of the content that you can get from it is copyrighted. And downloading copyrighted material without permission from the copyright owner is illegal.

Limewire is a kind of client of Gnutella.
While napster is used to downloading mp3 (but it seems that it became illegal in early days?)
