I'm 16 and my friends are 17. Could I get into a R-rated movie with them since they are 17? I'm sure you have to be 17 to get into a r-rated movie but if my friends are 17, can they get me in?

If it really comes down to it. They just buy two tickets and happen to give one of them to you. It really isn't all that strict of a thing (and movie theatres are far more interested in taking your money than protecting innocent souls)

No, They put restrictions on movies due to the content in the movie not because of your age. In Australia you have to be 18 to enter a restricted rated film as buying cigarettes or being served alcohol. Movies given a restriction (adult) rating wouldn't interest a younger audience due to the content, violence , horror , or the language, sexual scenes and drug use scenes in the film. I'll tell you something to keep in mind you'll not enjoy or watch the film as you'll be worried all during the movie of an usher coming up asking for your I.D. All movies come out on D.V.D or are on cable t.v within weeks of being on at the cinema. If you think your adult enough to watch a restricted film ask your parents to bring a copy home or ask them to take you to the cinema to see it. If they also refuse to do this remember soon you'll be 17 and you'll be able to see whatever you like.

Probably not. They ID at most theatres these days. The only way you could get in is if they aren't checking. Just because your friends are old enough doesn't mean they'll sell them an extra ticket, or let you in under their supervision. Only a parent can do that.

I believe it's Parental Guidance. Some movie theaters they need to see you with an adult 18+ or parent and need to see you go into the actual movie with them.

Nope, You've gotta be with a parent or guardian. Think of it like this, if you're not 21 and you're friends are...you can't get into a 21 and up bar.
