You can use a paralegal or you can do it yourself, anyone can file motions in court.Good luck,a paralegal is cheaper than an attorney and usually does all the paperwork for attorneys.

There are some independant paralegals that dont work for attorneys, look in your local paper or phone book,if you cant find them under Paralegals look under attorneys assistants or legal assistants.

Paralegals can file motions for you, they cannot, however, represent you in open court. If the issue is important, hire an attorney. What happens in a courtroom is sort of like a dance, and the only ones who know the steps are the judges and the attorneys... (and the Court clerks, who are the ones that run the show! :)

A paralegal can file motions with the court BUT cannot represent you in a court of law. If a paralegal attempts to represent you, the paralegal could be charged with illegal practice of law and her law firm could face disciplinary issues.

No. Paralegals are not allowed to represent a client in anyway in court. I used to be one, so I know. They can help you fill out paperwork and file, but they have no law degree.

In some states like AZ, paralegals are allowed to have their own offices. But you would have to check the laws in your own state. This you could find out by checking a local phone book, or calling the state bar association in your area.

Some states allow this, but some require that an attorney sign off on any court documents. Check the law in your state by finding the Rules of Civil Procedure, probably on your state supreme court's web page.
