I currently live in Columbus, OH and you can find a nice first home for $100,000. I was offered a job in Villanova, PA and I was looking at houses within 30 miles from the city and I can't find one that is less than $500,000! Is that area, or any are around there very upper class and where does the middle class live around there? Any help would be great!

Villanova is in a very ritzy area known as the Main Line. Try jumping on the Blue Route (also known as I-476) and head a few exits south of Villanova into Delaware County, like Springfield, Broomall, Drexel Hill, Media (a little expensive), Newtown Square (maybe expensive), Lansdowne, Clifton Hts. You could also try going north on the Blue Route to Plymouth Meeting, Ambler, Blue Bell, which are very nice areas, cheaper than Villanova but more expensive than Delco. There are lots of other places u could look but I picked these to provide a reasonable commute, since Villanova is right off the Blue Route.

Yes, Villanova is in a very expensive area...often referred to as The Main Line. Have you heard of the movie The Philadelphia Story? Story about high society life with Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, and Katherine Hepburn. It takes place on The Main Line.

I'm an agent down the road from Villanova in Bryn Mawr, and although many homes are very expensive there are many reasonably priced homes in the area. If you would like I can send you a full list of homes in your price range. Send me an email of the details of the type of home you would like at damon@homesbydamon.com, and I'll be happy to help!

You should be able to find homes less than $500,000. If you are looking outside of Philadelphia, you will have a difficult time finding a home for $100,000 or less. If you look north or west of Villanova you should be able to find a home, but most likely you will be looking at $150-$200,000. Conshohocken might be a place to start looking.

If I could be of further service, e-mail me with any questions you may have.
