Overall, I would vote for Seinfeld, with Arrested Development and The Office running neck and neck for second. Seinfeld had both the physical gags and one liners that made you laugh right away, as well as the more subtle humor that you suddenly realized what they were talking about a day or two later. It also pointed a lot of humor at its loyal fans by making off the cuff remarks that seemed to make no sense but were actually referring to past episodes. And if I don't win...NO SOUP FOR YOU!

South Park is clearly the funniest and most thought provoking program on any channel and should be on your list. But I do like the simpsons, seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Family Guy, The Daily Show, Chapelles' Show, Mind of Mencia, really anything on the Comedy Central is awesome.

Of that lot, The Simpsons. Ricky Gervais' schtick got dull after a few episodes; I'd rather watch him masturbate for a half-hour. Seinfeld was occasionally funny; Cheers was best when Diane was on; never got to see Arrested D. Cannot stand that creep on Curb.

Seinfeld without a doubt. The early seasons were a little rough and not all that funny, but the later seasons were hilarious.

Arrested Development is really funny too, but too bad Fox had to cancel it because of low viewership. Hopefully Showtime will pick it up.

Friends is just stupid. Never found it funny at all. It's like they use the same story week after week.

Seinfeld and the Office. Both have subtle, not slapstick humor, and good actors. Though arrested development is funny, it doesn't have the same laugh a minutes as the others.

curb your enthusiasm, it pushes the envelope of comedy to the next step, see "beloved aunt" the doll" and "grand opening" episodes to see why. the office (british) comes a close second. both have a sense of realism have no laughter tracks to tell u whats funny and dont rely on gags with punchlines.

Cheers.

First - it is centered around a bar. You expect it to be about drunks...and it is not. In fact, the show pretty much went out of its way to show he bad side of drinking. Sam - Mayday malone lost a career as he was a drunk....

Second - the characters - so diverse............yet all became friends - the kind of friends everyone would like to have in their life.

Like a family - some were irritating (Carla, Cliff)....but they were your family!! They were each others family, too!

The others - I wouldn't give a dime for....but Cheers.....well - it was special!

The Simpsons. It's the only show out of that bunch I can actually watch and it's been around for so long and yet I still laugh with each episode.
