We have Earthlink DSL, and we are looking for a router. When I use the PC (desktop), she takes out the Ethernet cord and plugs it into her laptop, enters my dad's password in, and uses the internet (while I cannot). Is there any way to stop or lock it?

Sounds like you need to educate your sister on the importance of sharing! ;) I'd suggest you and your sis set up a schedule which you can both agree upon. That way you can share the single internet connection and not upset each other. You may also want to consult with your dad...I bet since he's paying for the connection, he may want some time online too. (I'm a dad of 2 teen-aged daughters )

Get a router for all of you and share internet access!
