Similar: uniform distribution when combined (of the initially seperated substances)
Different: suspension - physical interaction, solution - chemical interaction

A chemist can describe this further if one is willing.

Rocdoc's answer is not correct.

They are similar in that the composition can be varied. Examples you can add a lot or a little bit of sand to water to get a suspension. You can add a lot or a little bit of sugar to coffee and have a solution.

They are diffeent in that a solution is fully dissolved and the solute is not visible. In a suspension, the solute is visible and is not dissolved in the solvent.

Both are physical compositions. Neither represents a chemical change

Both are types of mixtures. However, suspensions usually consist of solid particles that settle at the bottom of the mixture (hence they are 'suspended' when mixture is shaken) while solutions contain completely dissolved solid components that do not settle.
