Putting several materials into one piece of art makes it a mixed-media piece.
You can go to local community colleges, Universities, and what are called "Art Schools." The art schools are the best training, and cost the most. Rhode Island School of Design is a very good art school. There are others. Keep your grades up so you can earn scholarships that will help pay for your tuition. In college you will probably have at least one assignment in mixed-media, maybe even an entire class.
Until you start classes, read art magazines, books about the lives of artists, and go to as many art museums and galleries as you can.
