Wildly off the mark only in terms of sheer numbers. I think it is safe to say that Saddam was stopped before he reached the level of killing that Hitler is infamous for.

I don't get the insult here. Insulting to Hitler's victims is Ahmadinejad and others questioning the Holocaust.

Yes it is wildly off the mark. Hussein was a student of Hitler's campaigns and actually enjoyed the comparison. Of course, Saddam never achieved a quarter of Hitler's political and military success and certainly never got close to his evil.

Saddam was simply a very self absorbed man who built numerous palaces and statues to himself, while failing his nation in so many ways.

And Saddam went out being dragged from a hole in the ground. Hitler took his own life after struggling against nearly the whole of the industrialized world over 6 years.

Iraq fell in a month.....really no comparison.

Absolutely not. It only underlines the incredible ignorance of history that is so common in this country. Bush is no angel nor is he a good president but this has nothing to do with what went on in the 3rd Reich.

No, that's not insulting to the memory of Hitler's victims. That just says that they were both insanely evil and were ready to do anything to control the world. They both (mercilessly) killed those who were a different religion from them. Anyone who stood in their path, wasn't like them, or disagreed with them in any way was dead meat.

yes, and if we not stop him, he would be a real Hitler! Beware of Iran, its president would be the next candidate for Hitler!

Absolutely not!

In addition to being politically incorrect, I am certain that it hurt Saddam's feelings.
