They have meds to help that now. I wouldn't take the unisome until I got a second opinion.(Since they have meds to help control it now)

I'm sorry your not feeling to good. It will get better. My daughter was extremely sick also. They wanted to put her in the hospital and IV her. After the 4th month it got alot better.

unisom is perfectly safe, when taken in moderation. Besides, I think the active ingredient is the same as in Benadryl (hope I'm not mistaken), which is what my doctor had me take. Now the morning sickness was different in both of my pregnancies. The first time I was sick when I ate; I used saltine crackers and ginger ale to get me thru the morning. The ginger settles the stomach; Vernor's brand has the highest ginger content. In My second pregnancy I was only sick when I did not have a full stomach; on that one I was able to drink lemonade for it's acidic content to keep me okay until I ate. Weird huh? Each pregnancy is different. Try one thing and if it doesn't work, go with the other one.

I am an obgyn nurse, and unisom is a sleep medication that works alot like dramamine and calms your stomach at the same time. YES! It is safe and is actually a generic form of a medication we give to women that come in here to the hospital when they are so sick they need meds and fluids. Depending on how far along you are, you might also be able to take dramamine which helps with motion sickness which would calm your tummy as well!

Good luck!

I have never heard of that. I used saltine crackers or ginger ale.
I looked it up on the net and found some sites that say taking unisom works well. They also say b6 does good too. Try typing in your search engine if you still feel uncomfortable. There were many sites to read.hope this helps

I don't know about switching doctors, you may want to try ginger snap cookies, or ginger candy to help with the morning sickness. I wouldn't take the unisom.

I have never been told to take this but I do know that my doctor gave me a list of stuff that I could take and this was on the list. Also, I had morning sickness I would call it all day sickness. I went to a Mother Hood Store and they had little candies and suckers called Preggie Pop Drops. They worked wonderful for me.

look, judging by past pre-scribed medication given to mothers who had morning sickness! the results ain't good!
I have 4 kids, on the last, i had severe 24/7 sickness!
I lived with it, for almost 9 months!
i would throw up at any time any where!
For no known reason!
I took nothing!
It is a pain in the @ss at the time, granted.
But it is only 40 weeks out of your life!
When you feel like sh1t, think of those who cannot have kids!
Makes you feel good!
Even as your head is down the toilet;)

Does the sickness keep you awake at night? Or were you looking for a relief for the morning sickness? With my first I was so sick all throughout my pregnancy, all 9 months all day long! My doctor prescribed me a low dose or promethazine and it helped alot with the nausea.
