After graduating from college, to become an attorney, you must go to law school.

Hmmmm, well, I know several lawyers who majored in English for their underdraduate degree, but that may not be the best major for you based on your post here.

History and philosphy also tend to be common pre-law degrees.

To be an investor, you are looking at majoring in economics or business.

One thing you should consider is that all three of those choices are full-time jobs. You really should not think of being a massage therapist as begin "an extra career for a little more money."

Also, don't go into it with a negative attitude ("spoil it in school"). Nobody ever gets anywhere acting like Eeyore. You definitely need to quit worrying about things being "too late" at 13!

One thing I really have to encourage you on, though, it to try to do well in your English and Literature classes, especially if you plan to be a lawyer. Having a command of writing skills, spelling, etc. could not be any more important to any job than it is to being a lawyer!

You write one thing wrong in a contract or in a court brief and it could cost you or someone else a LOT of money. You'll need to work all through high school on your writing skills. You can do this by paying attention in your English classes, entering writing contests, and studying vocabulary.

If you are not willing to do that now, you might as well cross lawyer off your list of potential careers.

You can go to a vocational school to become a massage therapist, my school offers 8 month certifcates and companies call us all the time for positions starting at 40-55 bucks per hour...

For law school, you must complete an undergraduate degree, then an extra 2-4 more years at a speciality law school and take a bar exam, pass it and finally you can practice being a lawyer.

An investor is a person who invests in stocks, all you need is a license which just requires that you take an exam. But a broker is the person who handles the investment, which just requires an undergraduate degree and a bunch of licenses...

You are 13, you have plenty of time. Even if you make a "life plan" now, it will change a hundred times. Trust me on this, I gave myself a nervous breakdown at your age (literally) b/c I was afraid I wouldn't get into the college of my choice. By the time I went to college at 17, I was engaged & went to the college my fiance went to. Been married 12yrs, have 2 degrees, 0 regrets!

To answer your question, attorneys have to go to law school for 3 yrs AFTER getting a bachelor's degree to get a juris doctorate (law degree), then they have to pass the bar (a big hairy exam). Investors can mean anything from a person who sits around in their underpants buying stocks online (no degree required) to a person who works for a bank, mutual fund company or other financial organization doing research & making decisions about where to invest the funds placed with them for that purpose (like retirement accounts, etc.). To work in that field, you need a degree in finance or accounting, good PC skills & an ability to shop for overpriced suits. :)

Btw, being a "massage therapist" is highly overrated.
