Beyond the traditional choices such as Mr. Holland's Opus and Shine, I would highly recommend the movies of Kieslowski, and in particular the trilogy which consists of movies called, Red, White, and Blue. They are absolutely amazing movies and all deal with the idea of redemption and rebirth. The characters in these movies are deeply wounded and in pain, and all find their way back to a life where they come to understand the possibility of joy. These movies will stay with you for a long, long, time I assure you.

I think there's a few inspirational true stories of those teachers who always work with kids that no one expects to succeed (Stand and Deliver, Freedom Writers, Dangerous Minds). I also liked the movie "Remember the Titans" (about desegregation and football) and "Men of Honor" (about the first black navy diver, who also lost a leg and continued to dive, true story). Hotel Rwanda is also great.

Recently, I enjoyed Blood Diamond and the Last King of Scotland.

Here's a list from someone of inspirational movies: http://www.bestinspiration.com/movies-5.htm

Chariots of Fire won a best movies Oscar. It has two main characters, one Jewish and one Christian, who provide significant though different points of inspiration.

"Dead Man Walking".
it's such an amazing movie with Sean Penn, as a convicted murdered on death row. I cried hysterically it was very touching, actually.
I know it doesn't sound like that type of movie, but it was.
:D

Depends on what kind of inspiration you're looking for hah. My personal favorite for inspiration is American Beauty, it kind of tells you to not be a slave to your job, because you only live once. Also fight club was very motivating for me.
