Could you please recommend a good hotel in Houston? Thinking about staying a weekend there Mid-March. Also, I have two young children. Thank You!

I tried googling it and looked at several travel sites. I came across the Magnolia Hotel and it seems like a very nice place to stay. I am just hoping for some guidence from people who have stayed in a good hotel.

If you're staying a weekend, I would stay in the Galleria area. Downtown is dead on the weekends. Some great choices there are the LaQuinta if you're on a budget, or the Hotel Intercontinental if you're not. Also, the Hilton on Post Oak is in a great locations. If you can afford it, the Westin Galleria opens right into the mall, which is very nice! Links:

Hope this helps!

We've stayed at the Doubletree by the Galleria Mall. This hotel is beautiful! What I like about it too is they offer free shuttle service within a 3 mile radius. This of course would include the Galleria. If you've never heard of this mall it's huge and has every designer store you can think of. It also has a huge ice skating rink which is always fun to do with the kids or even sit back and watch as you eat ice cream. Have fun in Houston!

Well there's a lot of alternatives and a lot depends on what purpose, where and why you are visiting.

Perhaps the first thing that may help is to visit a directory where you can sort hotels by location , price and star rating, then look at the amenities which would support you with your children.

Here's a start, although there are plenty of alternative websites out there:

Well the best place to stay is at the Hampton Inn off of the Southwest Freeway ... it's not in the city commotion its in the suburb of Stafford right outside the city and you don't have to worry about traffic in that area during the week ... THE BEDS WERE SOOOOOOOOOOOO COMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Not you're average box beds you find in most hotels ... THE MATRESS WAS ONE OF THOSE TEMPER PEDIC MATRESSES, WITH FEATHER COMFORTER, AND PILLOW .... I did not even want to go to my business meeting the next day i just wanted to stay in and sleep!!!!!!

Try TripAdvisor.com. It has tons of reviews for hotels worldwide. The hotels are rated by people who stayed in them - so you get to see the good & the bad.
