The Holocaust or Ha-Shoah was the attempted genocide of the Jewish population in Europe during World War II by the National Socialist regime in Germany (led by Adolf Hitler). The motivations were political and economic.

Adolf Hitler fabricated the event known as the Reichtag fire as an excuse to institute these laws, just as 9/11/2001 events gave the U.S. the impetus to pass laws that shredded our U.S. constitution. Adolf Hitler managed to instituted laws similar to the current patriot acts in the United States that enabled special executive powers and constricted the rights of citizens. This allowed his party to consolidate power and eliminate political threats.

In order to institute these extreme controls, Hitler needed a perceived enemy and took advantage of the racism that existed. Most of the German citizens were not aware of the death camps and did not fight the "resettlement" of the Jewish population and other minority groups. The death camps happened over a period of time and the true nature of these crimes were not widely known to the public until after the war. This discrimination and hate of Jews and other minorities was motivated in part by economics. Jews were forced to sell land, businesses, and other properties at a big discount to other Germans. Later the military determined that it was often more cost effective to kill a Jew than to house and feed them in work camps.

Unfortunately, the U.S. seems to parallel Nazi Germany by building secret prisons (outside the U.S.) where innocent muslims and suspected potential terrorists are tortured and kept in jail indefinitely without charges or due process. The parallels to Nazi Germany during World War II is disturbing.

Hate and fear was used effectively to consolidate power and exploit the population. War is a perfect smoke screen to redistribute wealth and power.

The Holocaust happened because Hitler thought the Germans were the ultimate race and that the Jews were inferior.

Hitler only knew how to stir up people's emotions by playing on hate. Because the Jews worked very close with each other, they became very successful as merchants, bankers, and businessmen. As the economy of Germany collapsed, but the personal finances of the Jews remained solid, people began to believe it when Hitler claimed the Jews purposely caused the financial ruin, when in truth it was the government's fault.

Hitler also persecuted others besides Jews, including political dissidents and homosexuals. Hitler's "vision" of the "master race" was tall, blond-haired, blue-eyed heterosexual Christians who followed their leaders without dissent. Yet Hitler himself was the son of a Jew, was a political dissident himself, was short, dark hair and eyes, and began his rabble rousing in gay bars. Basically the man hated himself.

Since ancient times envi has followed the jews due to their great intelligence and richness.

We see this in the Bible in "Ester" and in "Moses" how jews have been sufering from the begining of time.

During the middle ages England, Spain and other countries have thrown jews out from their countries, and invariably their richness changed hands making bankrupt kings and nobles very rich. Even the church benefited from this.

The same has happened in modern times.

Only the gold fillings from the dead jews in Concentration Camps, gave Germany hundreds of gold bullions.

Additionally, Bank accounts, cash, jewels, diamonds, art treasures, paid great part of Hitler´s war machine.

Remember that "ENVI" was the first human instinct that caused brother to kill brother. (Cain , Abel)

No one has any valid reason.

Hilter grew up in a horrible family situation and saw the worst of the world. He wanted to make it better, but had no idea how. His foster parents were jewish and so he decided that they as a people were the root of all the worlds problems. gypsies too. He was actually a motivated do-gooder. Just kinda twisted.

several reasons:

Hitler hated the Jews and as a part of his FINAL SOLUTION he planned to exterminate the European Jewish population.

His reasons are varied: Jewish men controlled the Venice architectural college - he was rejected from admission as a young man
Many people blamed the Jewish people for Germany's lose in WW1
and
the German Jewish people were - generally - quite wealthy...

you can imagine however Adolf's surprise when he died
"Hi welcome to hell... I'm the devil.... PS Adolf - you're a quarter Jewish! SNAP! Now this is hell!"

Hitler wanted power and in order to achieve his power he needed to prey upon the insecurities of the German people...living conditions were poor and getting worse, Hitler offered up a convenient scapegoat and the close minded and mob mentality took over.

One word anti-Semitism, the question is 1) Why is there anti-Semitism? 2) Why is it called anti-Semitism and not racism? It sais in the Torah that "Esau hates Jacob" Because he stole the blessing. That blessing was past down from father to son in Jacob's family (the Jews) while the hate that Esau had to Jacob was also past down from father to son in Esau's family (Edom, Amalekites, Nazism)

Hitler needed a scapegoat on which to blame Germany's problems; he chose the Jewish people because they were an easy, defenseless target. The rest, as they say, is history.
