That depends on the style of the house. A two story colonial, with eight foot ceiling height, and a six on twelve roof pitch would be about twenty six feet, plus foundation.

Typically one floor consists of 10ft. So two floors would obviously have to be 20ft...but then you would need to consider if the roof of the house is either flat or triangular like most houses...Im guessing that a typical 2 story house would be around 25-30 ft. in height....and thats also assuming that there is an attic. Hope this helped.

Stories are `10 feet.add 6 to 8 feet for basement . if the house was 25 stories it would be 250 feet high.

Right Steve. . . . . . lets presume you have no steps into your house, a pre 1980 house will have 10ft ceilings probably, so x 2, plus 18 inch for floor and ceiling joist = 22 ft ish. now it depends if you want to reach up to clean from beneath or take ladders onto or past gutter to work along side ? ladders are always better too long than too short, you can always reduce them if needed.
