I have a download rate of over 5mbps according to speedtest, download other songs in couple seconds, why am i downloading torrents so slow? at like 5-10 kbps max? i upload at 30+ though

One problem you might be having is that trying to set up too many connections can actually drag your bandwidth down. BT sends data to peers partially in exchange for data that you send a peer, and a few data sending a lot of data can beat a lot of peers sending you dribbles.

Of course, other factors like traffic and distance will interfere, so you'll have to find what works with trial and error.

There's a possibility that your ISP is throttling or shaping traffic, that is filtering and slowing down traffic to and from certain ports. This isn't uncommon on some of the more popular BT listening port numbers. You might not have any options if this is going on, but you can try changing the port your BT client listens on or encrypting the traffic if your client permits doing these sorts of things.

Because a lot of hackers seed torrent files with trojans and keyloggers, which, if you've been downloading torrent materials, your PC is likely infected with some malware. This, in turn, slows it down.
