I think its because as people we associate differnt colors with moods and emotions. Think about it, blue for sad, calm, etc. Red for rage, passion, energy. I've also heard it said that the colors red and yellow have to do something with food...

It's a tendency of us to associate certain abstract emotions with something visual, such as a color. This is why often in novels colors can represent different moods.

Colours have an energy. Different colours evoke different emotions. We associate red with heat, fire. It can make us angry or just feel warm. For some reason yellow makes us hungry (must be why they use yellow for the golden arches!) I'm not sure why. Green is very serene. It's natural, it reminds us of grass. Blue is also tranquil. Like the sky or like water. Some colours have different effects on different people. For example, I've heard that black can alienate people. But personally I love black. I find it sexy, mysterious, beautiful. Some people find it scary (associated with darkness & evil whereas white is associated with light & goodness). All the sensory information that we take in has an effect on us. We are sensual beings in tune with our environment. So choose your paint colours carefully! Tee hee. I love grey. My favourite colours are grey, silver, black, white & maroon. They dominate my home decor. But that's just me. Many people gravitate to beiges & taupes. Earth tones are calm & safe. I like some earth tones but I need a bit of an edge...

Of what i comprehend, i comprehend cool colorings easily calm and sooth the suggestions. If somebody sees green, they are going to experience extra non violent than in the event that they observed pink. in the event that they observed purple, they might look much less annoying-going than seeing yellow. Seeing blue would make somebody extra disenchanted than seeing orange. additionally, it is extra approximately heat colorings, however the reason maximum casinos have pink carpets (or different heat colorings) is by technique of the fact they get you excited, as detrimental to having a funky shade, which might make you sleepy. Sorry I have no citations, I found out this in artwork. :)
