Would you clap for me if i ran up to them and punched them onto the ground? Of course, the guy was burning the flag to talk about how bad the US is, not for warmth

I Used a fire extinguisher once. Right in his face. I was afraid he would choke. Then they tried police on me. They are against law/gpverment, but once they got their asses kicked, always complain to ploice. (Berkeley, CA)

If I live to be 100 I'll never understand this distinctly American form of idolatry that consists of getting all worked up about and making a big stink about the flag. The war in Iraq is infinitely more important. I don't care how many thumbs down I get for this because I know my point of view in this case is not popular. To me it's on a par with Janet Jackson's 'wardrobe malfunction' during the SB a couple years ago in terms of intrigue or significance.

Your rationale is a poor reason to incite violence against any individual. I don't support flag burning, what I am saying is you would be playing into the hands of the establishment, who operate beyond nationality and religion. Try to see things in a global perspective where the true evil minds are at work.

Nope. My ancestors fought under another American Flag and it wasn't the Stars & Stripes.

Unfortunately it is freedom of expression. In my opinion though, there should be laws in place that will charge people doing this with treason. To answer your question, you would receive an overwhelming round of applause from me, along with a request for an encore.

No. but I'd clap for the man that walked up to him and asked "what has so totally destroyed your faith in this great nation that you feel you must show your disdain in this manner?" Albeit, in these days, I'm fairly certain I know what his answer would be.

Your punching him is also freedom of expression. I would definitely clap!

No, I would be very angry at you for infringing on his rights (which you believe to be protecting by trying to protect the American flag).

Ironic.
