I have a friend that has a real problem with mice. I have actually seen them scurrying around when I am over there. She has said she has tried everything and can not seem to get rid of them. Any suggestions I can tell her to help get rid of them for good? All suggestions welcome, thanks.

Mice will continue to come into a house as long as there are openings. If there is a possibility of blocking all the openings up then there is a chance of getting rid of them. Otherwise they will come back or other mice will come in especially in the fall when they want to get in out of the cold. I have had good luck with the simple mouse trap using cheese and also peanut butter. Check all cupboards in the house as sometimes there are unknown holes especially where there are water pipes and drain pipes. Your friend needs to check anywhere there could be nests also. Good luck..

I had the same problem in an apartment once. It was an older apartment that had fireplaces in every apartment. We had so many mice that when the rental agency sent the exterminators they would set out a large tray of poison and within a couple of weeks the poison would be all gone. We were getting the exterminator in every month and nothing was working, finally I just asked the exterminator truthfully what was going on and he said that it was almost imposible because the building was old and they were comming in through tiny cracks on the outside of the building. He said they would have to go in the basement and outside the building and stuff all the creaveses and such (huge job). Unfortunately for my roomate and I could not stand it after five months and had to leave the funkiest apartment I ever had. The mice destroyed everything.....even ate around my high school diploma!! Hopefully your friend has the option to move, but first an exterminator could help greatly.

I am an expert mice catcher! Sticky traps seam to work the best. Once some friends and I caught a mouse by baiting it with some cheese crackers and then once it was out in the open trapping it under a box. That is the most fun way but if you are looking for the easiest I would go with the sticky traps.

If she lives in a rural area and isn't afraid of rat snakes, let one loose in her house. They avoid people and are really good mousers. I've got a friend how did this and she said that the snake never really bothered anyone-it just did it's job and hid. It's a bad idea if she has cats or small children who would provoke it and get bitten.

She should call an exterminator. Mice multiply so fast.
