Retirement doesn't mean the end of the world. Maybe she didn't want a card, but wanted to be kept in touch with everyone.

I'm not sure what kind of help you are looking for.

It is very likely that they were just envious of her retirement. It sure is a sinking feeling when you see a fellow co-worker that is now free to start a new chapter in their life by moving away and enjoying the rest of their life while you are stuck working for a living.

No fanfare for me either. I retired in a very quiet way. Actually no one knows that I am retired and receiving S, S. checks. I'm in Florida for the winter and having a good time.

Advice about what? So her friends/co-workers didn't do what you thought they should to acknowledge her leaving?

If you like her, keep on seeing her. Take her out to tea or go to the movies.
