What are some good games for DS? I've been considering getting Diddy Kong Racing DS because I loved playing the N64 version but the reviews aren't so good. Do you recommend this game? If not, what game do you suggest? I like adventure, racing, and especially role-playing games. I've heard Final Fantasy III is pretty good. What do you think?

I personally didn't like Diddy Kong Racing as much as I liked MarioKart. However, MarioKart is not my favorite DS game.

After many rentals, internet reviews and E-Bay in and outs, I, so far, have found the following:

Pokemon Ranger (RPG) 4/5 - decent, as far as Pokemon games go. Much better (in my opinion) than Blue Mystery Dungeon. But, I'm waiting patiently for Diamond and Pearl to be released.

Animal Crossing - Wild World (RPG) 5/5 - absolutely my favorite game for the DS so far.

The New Super Mario Bros. 5/5 - very easy, but very fun game. Reminds me of the version for the Super Nintendo.

Yoshi's Island 5/5 - very cute, very fun...a little more difficult that the New Super Mario Bros.

Mario & Luigi - Partners in Time 5/5 - another good Mario game, maybe a more like Paper Mario than the traditional games.

Dragon Quest - Rocket Slime (RPG) 5/5 - one of my favorite RPGs out there for the DS right now.

Clubhouse Games 5/5 - one of the games that keeps me busy. I didn't think I'd like it, but it surprised me.

Phoenix Wright 5/5 - as long as you don't mind reading, it will suck you in and eat up days of your life.

Brain Age 4/5 - great game...maybe a little infuriating at times, though. Still, a staple to have in your collection.

Big Brain Academy 4/5 - just a good as Brain Age, just in a different way. (I can't bring myself to take either of them back.)

I tried Elite Beat Agents and, though, I was decent at it, I didn't like it. Also, I was not a fan of Nintendogs, either. Final Fantasy III didn't draw me in like I hoped it would and was not worth the price, in my opinion. Lastly, Meteos really wasn't my favorite. I found it quite annoying, as did my husband (who usually loves those type of games).

I can't comment on Magical Starshine, Tetris, Super Princess Peach or Trauma Center (waiting for a chance to get them), but all seem to be very good games.

Good luck and enjoy whatever game you end up purchasing.

Sims:
Lost in Blue (fantastic game, stuck on a desert island! Love it!)
Zoo Tycoon (pretty obvious)
Nintendogs! (I'm sure everyone has heard about this one!)
Adventure/RPG:
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

No, I don't recommend playing Diddy Kong Racing DS, but it's really up to you. I'm not one for racing games anyway.

I have the N64 version of Diddy Kong Racing and the only thing that's new about it is the Wi-fi. I recomend it if you can use Wi-fi. It's fun racing with others.

If you like games that are heavy on text and not furioust button-mashers, go with Hotel Dusk or the Pheonix Wright games.
If you like games that are more action-y, I would get Elite Beat Agents. Awesome, awesome, awesome game.

I recommend the Phoenix Wright games. I haven't played the second one yet, but the first one was really good and my roommate is loaning me the second one after she finishes it. Good stuff.
