Get a wireless mouse - that way you can just take the mouse with you.

I can remember as a kid I had to adapt to the world around me. But now it seems that we cater to and adapt to the kids. For example (if computers were around back then) I would of had to learn not to yank on the mouse so hard that the cord would rip. But nowadays we want to allow the kids to pull and tug on the mouse to their hearts content so that we have to constantly stop what we are doing to go and plug it back in.
So to answer your question, I don't think that they do make a mouse like that although they do make a wireless mouse. But then you run the risk of a kid "misplacing" the mouse

Maybe I'm missing the point of your question, but what about a wireless mouse?

Have you considered a wireless mouse? , you could remove the batteries or just put it somewhere out of reach
