I got a scientific atlanta cable DVR box, I am trying to copy from that to my DVD Recorder, any idea how do to it? I hooked up the wires in front with the white, red, and yellow, and did the same to the DVR. Why is it not recording?

Hi legalboxers,

Look on the back of the DVR box for Red/White/Yellow labeled "Output", connect these to the Red/White/Yellow on the back of your DVD recorder labeled "input".

That will get you going.

Try to copy first a local channel, say PBS.

Premium and pay per view channels may be protected by Microvision.

Don't forget on the DVD-R to set the correct input (Line 1, Line 2, etc). You should be able to view the same video from the output of the DVD-R (loopback through your TV). If you can't see the video, either your connections are wrong or the video is protected.
