Is the book Forrest Gump 2 good?

I very much enjoyed the book. There was one scene in the armed forces kitchen where Forrest was cooking that was so hilarious that I laughed out loud. Every time I read the next sentence I'd laugh out loud again. The section was probably the funniest written words I've ever read.

It was a very quick read - it's not very long.

But I was amazed that many of the adventures in the book were not in the movie, and vice versa.

Personally I hate the story but millions of people loved it. I thought it was very stupid.
