... the the HEET I've put in? Having added fuel injector cleaner, any chance this will clean oxyen sensor (Thee complaintant on the computer printout: Fuel mixture) and catalytic convervter? It at least runs better now with new pipe and flex from engine to cat converter.
I also get a knock-knock-knock when I do hard turns: What is this sypmtomatic of? Power Steering going out, or just M&S tires?
Can this car have ANY kind of tow hitch put on it?
I admit, I enjoy watching the whites of my wife's eyes when I put the metal to the medal. (For some reason, it also closes her mouth.)

You will need to have your vehicle computer read by a code scanner to retrieve the code or codes stored in the computer to determine what the problem is. The knock-knock-knock sound when you make hard turns is the CV joints on your front axle are worn out. The best thing to do there is to replace both of the CV joint axles on your car. As for your wife's reaction when you put the pedal to the medal, you may be scaring the hell out of her and she is unable to say anything from the fear of your wild driving.

The check engine light could come on for various reasons. The most common reasons being gas cap not on properly or it no longer fits air tight. The fuel injectors need flushing. If you have never had your fuel lines cleaned, the additives may not be enough to flush out the system. The catalytic converter going out will also cause your engine light to come on. The converter is part of your emissions system. And the other most common reason is fueling your car with it running. Fueling up with the car running trips the computer. The knocking sounds could be indicitive of your bushings going out. They usually make noise when turning if they are bad. You should have an upper and lower bushing on each wheel. Also check your tire rods.

welcome to the klde engine ownership. if these are your only problems, youve been extremely lucky.
nothing you can do will fix the 02 sensors, they must be replaced.
it the cat is coming up when you pull the codes, once again, nothing you can do will fix it without replacement
the knock is common, its the cv joints. they need replaced
you can try resetting the ecu by unhooking the negative battery terminal and pumping the brakes 5 times.
The only way to pull the codes on the 97, is by taking it to autozone. 93-96 can be shorted out.
yes you can instal a tow hitch, check http://www.mx6.com for specifics
upcoming problems you will have:
water pump
distributer
belt tentioner
#2 vris
egr valve

honestly, the best thing to do, would be to swap out the klde for a klze. this will save you thousands in the long run, and youll get more power.
