Not much...

I'm happily married and we aren't planning to divorce.
I stay at home and raise my children.
We don't have cell phone.
We don't have cable TV.

I enjoy my life, though sometimes I feel like we're living in the 1950's. Life is good.

assumptions may or may not be correct, however, what one believes to be a cultural norm may be a thought birthed in ignorance, which is how stereotypes begin. people's cultural norms don't really impact me, unless the norms deal with hygiene (what i consider to be a lack of). i don't know what the cultural norm(s) is/are for americans...this society is extremely diverse, and we're all not greedy or rude. cultural norms are what give each a rich history that we all can learn from, about, and maybe appreciate.

Cultural norms are based on the fact that we think about what people think about us. If we are on the elevator with a stranger (young, old, male, female, it doesn't matter), we do not hum a tune, brush our hair, or blow our nose loudly-we care what that person thinks about us. Each of us is concious about what any other person thinks about us and acts accordingly. Some, such as a child or person with autism, needs to be taught that idea explicitly- I think about you-you think about me.

Affects me not at all. I could not care less about anybody else's idea of a norm, cultural or otherwise.

They don't. You heard the old saying, if you assume something you are making an *** out of you and me. LOL
