Good question because they certainly didn't have translators there. But it makes sense that they would speak in Italian like what others said above.
I sometimes wonder how players and referees communicate during the World Cup matches. Maybe referees are required to know several languages or at least enough to be able to communicate on the pitch.

They were talking in Italian as Zidane can speak Italian fluently because he used to play with Juventus (Italian club)
