It depends on the brand. Does it have a name on it. Such as Kohler , American Standard etc. It may need new "o" rings, a new cartridge or washers depending on how old it is. If you can identify it than you can call the related 1-800 number and describe the problem and they can send you the right parts. If it leaks along the base it usually the cartridge.

Take the name and model number of the faucet down to the hardware store and get rubber washers for that unit. Then shut the water off under the sink and disassemble the faucet handle from the top. Switch the washers for new ones/reassemble and your are done.

If it is a single handle control, you'll need to remove the core and either replace it or replace the springs and seat.

If the faucet is a single, stand-alone 9one each for hot and cold) it's just a washer. Turn off the water pump (or the outside connection if you're hooked up), remove the valve body, remove the screw in the center of the washer, and get a replacement washer from the hardware store. Reverse the procedure, and you're good to go.

With all answers so far there is validity. I happen to live in a mobile at the moment, and in essence the plumbing is the same as in a usual house.

Since you don't strictly define more than LEAK I guess you'll have to take advice from multiple answers. It isn't Rocket Science, and could be as simple as a washer.

Certainly one of the most valid suggestions (thank you, smile) was TURN OFF the water supply first.

the same way you fix any leaky faucet...tear it apart, probably needs new washers, but maybe a whole new faucet. Check the washers first (in the faucet handle itself)...they are cheap to replace, maybe 2$...if that doesnt work you may need a new faucet set

Is it a mobile home with the plastic hose/ crimp connector type plumbing? If so do some research on class action law suits. The mobile home industry was sued a few years back regarding sub-standard plumbing practices. Find the legal team and they will help you get your home replumbed.

Turn off the water, pull off the handles, there should be a nut, loosen it and pull the stem out, take it to home depot and you can buy new seats and stems for those for a very reasonable price.
