Imagine that a really popular actor dies young in the middle of a big-budget movie - and they decide to finish the movie anyway with a computerized actor that when imposed on the original scene looks and sounds just like the real person.

if thats the case then yes maybe computers will help but not totally replace the actors.

i remember seeing a show about that when that movie came out.. that one from 1999 or something.
also, didnt they replace some guy on one of the harry potters? one of the first ones? he had acted out most of his scenes, and suddenly died.. so they used a computer version of him.

In that case you mentioned that could happen.. but I don't think so 'till computarized actors can't possibly do "the casting couch"....

Yeah, the animation is getting close to real life.
I loved princess Fiona in Shrek, the daytime one, not the night time one.........lol

It may happen someday, but until the cost of CGI and special effects go down it won't go mainstream.
