I wouldn't worry about it she's 75, sometimes they say things at that age not even realizing what they are saying. So don't take it seriously.

Your landlady obviously assumes you did something you didn't. I don't know why she feels you owe her anything if this is merely a boarding situation though. Depending on how much you care to straighten things up with her, you might want to ask if you and she could sit down and have a more serious chat, then ask her what she meant by that comment. She might have misinterpreted what you said as meaning "I'll be out for a few hours but may come home late just to sleep." She might have tried to stay up waiting for you and when you didn't show up, she assumed you slept with someone somewhere (since maybe that's what she'd have done?), or maybe she just assumes all young people these days fall into bed with anyone always. Talk. Stay calm and focus on the fact that you did not do anything wild and crazy. Hopefully she'll understand that she got it all wrong and everything will go back to normal.

With any luck, the mother doesn't visit very often. I wouldn't take her comments to heart. She doesn't know where you were (you could have as easily stayed at a girlfriend's house for the night). It could be that the mother is concerned with what kind of person is living under her daughter's roof.

It sounds like you may try to make too many people happy. I assume you're an adult. You are capable of making your own choices. It shouldn't really matter what someone - a near total stranger - thinks of you.

I'm not sure but whatever it was, it was wrong. You should tell your friend what her mother said and ask what was meant by it. I hate to say it but this could lead to a bad living situation. The best you can do right now is ask your friend what was meant and talk it over - with your FRIEND! Screw her mother. The woman has no right getting into your business.

I wish the best for you!

She probably was joking-traying to play or doesnt know you or she is a sick person. Why dont you write her a friendly letter and tell her everything you told us and how you feel?
is hard to tell you why she did it , we cant read her mind and dont worry! . the important is to care for valuable people -like you-that cares for you no mather what you are I bet there are a lot.
sorry for my bad english
Good luck.
