Yes you need an agent to get any decent parts. Their job is to find you work. Pick someone you can trust though. You can find agents in any phone book or on the web and auditions also on web, i've seen them just use Google...

Actors get jobs through their Agent. Perform as often as you can, in the city where you live. If you are beginning an acting career, don't worry about an agent. Wait until you have a lot of theatre on your resume that will attract an agent to you.

Try http://www.starsearchcasting.com also take acting classes, or get a personal acting coach. Go to premiers and award shows to get aquainted with all the right people. Get a talent agent. Dress the part, show off your attitude through your trendy clothes, maybe becuase you lokk sooo good someone might ask you to be in their movie. It's happened to countless Hollywood starlets.

Big breaks are not somethign you can make hapeen. Big breaks happen on their own and are no controlled otherwise everyone would do make their own. If there was a way to make them it is slow and steady hard work and strong moral!
